How many cameras does my property need?＋
The answer depends on the views and evidence purpose—not floor area alone. A small shop may need four to eight well-positioned views, while a compound or multi-floor business may require more. Start with the calculator, then verify blind spots on site.
Can CCTV record when the internet is down?＋
Yes. A correctly designed local IP-camera system records cameras to the NVR over the local network. Remote viewing and cloud alerts may stop until the internet returns.
How long should footage be kept?＋
Homes often choose a shorter practical history, while businesses may need longer retention for incident discovery, operations or policy. Camera count, bitrate, codec, activity and recording schedule all change storage.
Will the CCTV work during a power outage?＋
Only if the full recording path is backed up: cameras, PoE switch, NVR, router and any required display. The backup design should use measured watts and the target recording hours.
