Federal Tax Credit - Extended for another 8 years!

The U.S. Senate has attached legislation to a housing assistance bill that will extend federal clean energy tax credits. The housing bill passed the Senate in an 84-12 vote.

The Clean Energy Tax Stimulus Act (S.2821) was approved 88-8 as an amendment to HR.3221, which aims to mitigate the economic impact of the current housing crisis, said Sen. Pete Domenici, R-N.M., in a news release.

The renewable energy amendment, which Domenici co-sponsored, would provide a one-year extension of the renewable energy production tax credit and an eight-year extension of the solar energy and fuel cell investment tax credit. Those and other clean energy incentives would otherwise expire in December.
